Hi Glyn, thank you for your comment. Most Crocs retailers should be able to offer you more information about the recycling options in the UK or other European country. Kate

When will the huge European market be able to recycle their Crocs and contribute to the SolesUnited effort?

Cited from Ode Magazine, April 2008 issue. solesunited.com is all about recycling your worn out crocs!

"it’s the first-of-its-kind recycled footwear donation program. Give back your worn-out crocstm shoes to be recycled into new shoes and they will be donated to people in need around the world." directly from the website.

Here are the addresses to donate your crocs: crocs recycling - west 3375 enterprise ave. bloomington, CA 92316

crocs recycling - east 1500 commodity blvd. lockbourne, OH 43137

There is also a link to find a retailer in your zip code that will accept your worn crocs too! This is good news and a good thing.

I'm not too sure when this article was written but CROCS are recyclable. CROCS has a launched a program called "soles united." When your pair's tread wears out simply just donate back to the company. The shoes will be recycled into new shoes and they will be donated to people in need around the world; visit solesunited.com for more details. Obviously this is an awesome green conscious effort by CROCS.

Thanks for your advice, Anna. That's good information to know.

Please do NOT donate Crocs with worn down treads to charities . The shoes are NOT non-slip once the treads are worn ...they are actually dangerously slippery then, much as worn auto tires are. The Crocs website talks about the need to replace Crocs with worn treads for this very reason.
